Before travelling, your pet needs to be implanted with a microchip, vaccinated, and in some cases undergo rabies antibody test. Requirements may vary depending on the country of transit\/destination. To ensure your pet\u2019s safe travel, you should prepare for the trip as soon as possible and preferably 6 months in advance.<\/span><\/p>\n

The process is not rocket-science, with a bit of research and preparation, you can definitely avoid paying thousands of dollars to an all-inclusive relocation service agency.<\/p>\n

A good starting point is to check with potential airlines’ requirements for your travel route and the website of International Air Transport Association (IATA)<\/a> to retrieve an initial checklist of your destination, and if applicable, transit countries’ requirements. If you have a choice, opt for pet-friendly airlines, avoid taking an itinerary with transit and\/or code-share flights (potentially different and additional requirements involved). For example, if you are travelling to\/from the EU, consider a transit within the EU\/EEA countries or taking a train or car trip to\/from Paris\/Frankfurt, where there are direct flight options with Vietnam.<\/p>\n
